How does one get to Uganda?
One gets to Uganda through Entebbe International Air port which is served by international carriers. Uganda can be reached overland from Kenya , Rwanda and Tanzania
How can one get a visa?
Visa requirements do change, so one has to sure of what is require before traveling to Uganda. Visa can be issued upon arrival at the Air port or on a land border and this cost USD 50 for a Uganda Visa.
What are the health requirements when visiting a foreign country?
A certificate of yellow fever is required. Visitors should take malaria precautions. It is advisable to drink battled water, available throughout the country, rather than tap water.
What is the money policy in Uganda?
The unit of currency is the Uganda shilling. All major currencies are accepted although the US is the most common. Cash or travelers cheques can be changed for local currency at banks and bureaux de change in all large towns.
What langue is spoken?
Educated Ugandans are generally fluent in English, the official language. Of 30-plus different indigenous languages, luganda serves as something of a lingua franca.
What is the best time for one to Visit Uganda?
Any time, though mountain hikes, gorilla tracking and forest walks are more challenging during the rains, which generally peak over mid- September to November and March to May.
What is the dressing code?
Day time temperatures are generally warm to hot, so bring lots of light clothing. Evenings are cooler, especially at high altitude. Those who tend to hike in the mountains will b exposed go alpine temperatures and should pack accordingly. Solid walking shoes and study clothing are ideal for forest walks.
What is the packing list when coming to Uganda?
To fully enjoy the game reserves, carry binoculars and field guides. Photographers will need a zoom lens for wildlife (70-300 or similar). Print film and developing is available in Kampala. Toiletries and other essentials can be bought anywhere in Uganda.
Is it safe to drive when in Uganda?
Driving is on the left side. Several car rentals companies operate like Atlas safaris Uganda operate out of Kampala. Visitor without experience of African roads are advised to organize a vehicle with a driver rather than self- drive.
